Why You Should Wait 6 Months to Say Yes!

Whenever two people are in love, they carefully evaluate, think, give it time, and then take their relationship to the next step. But for some reason, all this thinking just goes out of the window when it comes to saying yes to an arranged marriage match. Perhaps it is because of the families and the society pressure of “log kya kahenge” if the potential couple continues to meet each other without even a yes, that the match is finalized after 2 – 3 months itself!

There’s a serious flaw in picking your life partner in such a short time and there are a number of reasons behind it.Screen Shot 2014-11-21 at 3.17.36 pm

THE CRUSH PHASE
You know that initial puppy love phase? That itself lasts 6 months. You think it’s love, but it’s honestly not until you have crossed the 6 month mark. And it’s not just us who are saying it, a lot of scientists back that statement too. So honestly, you saying yes to a man after 2 months, thinking you’re in love, but there’s a big chance that you’re really not.

YOU DON’T QUITE KNOW THE PERSON
So let’s face it, you’re not going to be spending every moment with one another. And that honestly just leaves very little time to meet, and even when you two do, chances are they’ll be dinners or lunches, or something along similar lines. Now here’s the thing, you need time to get to know a real person and that really isn’t possible over a few meals or dates. It is such a limited time, that anyone can be on t
their best behaviour for all the while.

DO YOU REALLY MATCH?
If you are in the crush phase, chances are, you will not want to do anything that makes the other person unhappy, or do anything that he dislikes. You don’t really mind settling for something you’re not too fond or you’re way too into the puppy love. Now here is where compatibility really goes for a toss! You wish to head out for long drives and a whole bunch of activities over the weekend, while he wants to sit at home straight through the two days? Chances are, you might put up with it for the first few months, but sometime, the lid has got to blow. And when the lid blows will you really know how compatible you two are.

So ladies, take your time before you say yes. Even when there’s pressure around, don’t ever forget that this is marriage you’re thinking about – A person you’re going to spend your entire life with. You don’t want to take a chance with that, do you?
