We all spend time in grooming ourselves. We love to use cosmetics to enhance our beauty. But what about your natural beauty? Imagine yourself waking up prettier and better than you looked yesterday.
I am sure you must have heard about the term ‘beauty sleep’. But you may have wondered, what is beauty sleep?
What is beauty sleep?
Beauty Sleep is having sufficient rest in order for the body to repair damaged skin cells. During sleep, new skin cells are formed and replace older cells. During sleep, our body tries to restore the right hormonal balance in the body. A lack of sleep interrupts this from taking place. Sleep deprivation cause health issues such as high blood pressure, heart problems, depression, etc. That gives you all the more reason why one should value sleep. How much sleep is required? Experts believe that approximately eight hours of beauty rest sleep every night is required.
Tips for Beauty Sleep
1. Use visualization. Just before going to bed, visualize yourself getting a wonderful sleep. This psychologically conditions your mind and helps in getting a good sleep.
2. Set your body clock for sleep. Make it a habit. Sleep and wake up at the same time every day.
3. Avoid watching horror movies or much of violence before sleep. We tend to dream of the visuals we see and this will hinder your sleep.
4. When you sleep, sleep with your face facing the ceiling. Sleeping face down not only compresses your face, but doesn’t allow your skin pores to breathe. This leads to formation of wrinkled skin.
5. Use a soft cover for your pillow. A soft pillow cover will not rub your skin during sleep and will be gentle on the skin.
6. Use bed-sheets that are white in color. Certain dyes on your pillow and bed-sheets may irritate your skin.
