Yesterday, Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh shared the posters of Gully Boy on their respective social media accounts. Now, the teaser of the movie is also out and it does look appealing. The Gully Boy teaser, which is one -and-a-half minute long, was shared on the official Excel Movies’ YouTube channel, to introduce Ranveer Singh’s character, which they called ‘the voice of the streets’. The teaser provides a glimpse into Gully Boy’s life in the slums of Mumbai and how he hones his skills as a rapper.

The movie has been directed by Zoya Akhtar and it traces the story of a young Mumbai street rapper, inspired by the life of Divine (Vivian Fernandes) and Naved Shaikh aka Naezy, popular for the song ‘Mere Gully Mein.’ Ranveer will be seen portraying the underground rapper who beats all the odds and becomes a well-known rapper eventually.
Last year, the videos of Ranveer rapping along with Divine went viral. In an interview to Hindustan Times, Divine said, “He’s the best man to do the movie and he’s killed it.” The movie is also going to be a part of 69th International Berlin International Film Festival, which will be held between February 7 and February 17.
The teaser surely got us intrigued and we can’t wait for the release of the movie on February, 14!
