#MeToo: Twitteraties Calls Out Sonam Kapoor For Supporting Rajkumar Hirani After Allegations On Him

Rajkumar Hirani, one of the biggest filmmakers of Bollywood, was accused of sexually harassing an assistant director during the post-production of movie ‘Sanju’. Hirani denied all allegations against him and stated that this was being done to taint his reputation.

Recently, Sonam Kapoor who is promoting her movie ‘Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga’, was asked to comment on the situation.

Sonam said, “I know Raju Hirani very well. I have known him for many years and I have huge respect for him as a filmmaker and as a man. I think we all should reserve judgment and be very responsible before we say anything more on this subject. Because we don’t need to derail this movement.”

She further added that this was not the right platform to discuss the issue.

Back when Tanushree Dutta came out with her experience of harassment, Sonam Kapoor was first of the many celebrities who supported her.

But when it came to Rajkumar Hirani, her opinion was, “I always want to believe a woman but suppose by chance, if it is not true, then how bad it will be for the movement, especially if it is somebody like Raju Hirani.”

Soon enough, twitteraties slammed Sonam Kapoor for her comments and some even went to the extent of calling it selective activism.
