Lenovo is back in the Android tablet market with two new slates: the Lenovo Yoga Tablet 10 and the Yoga Tablet 8. It’s a do-it-all device that is one serious contender to Apple’s dominance in the tablet market. Let’s dig deep in how the Yoga’s acrobatic capabilities translate into a standalone slate.

The Yoga is not a typical tablet. It is a “multimode” device thanks to a built in kickstand. When in “stand” mode, you can tilt the screen from 110 degrees to 135 degrees. This is where most tablets fail – they rely on their covers to be propped up and that is usually limited to one or two angles.

This Yoga Tab is far more flexible, designed with the woman in mind, making it ideal for watching videos and films, and with the Dolby Digital Plus speakers, watching movies is a great experience. Available in 10 inch & 8 inch sizes, both are lightweight, portable and boast an 18-hour battery life.

Other stocks such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS reside under the hood, while behind the stand sits a microSD slot capable of holding cards up to 64GB in size to complement the 16GB or 32GB of storage found inside.
It’s light enough to use as an e-book reader and the cylindrical bulge makes it easy to hold. The stand also comes in handy for viewing, reading and general use. It’s a neat design, and one that’s bound to win women fans, but it’s a pity the performance doesn’t quite match the style. If battery life is your number one feature, the Yoga takes the crown with its longevity.
Perhaps the only downside to the Yoga is that it is an Android device. Google’s OS is one of the most vulnerable to virus and malware attacks. The user interface (UI) is particularly garish especially when compared to Apple’s clean and crisp interface. But at approx. INR 29,000 for a 10-inch an unattractive UI is an easy compromise to make.
