There are many foods that taste lovely. But do we ever give it a thought about whether they are at all good for our health. Are we living a healthy life having these foods? Let us see how some food items can have an effect on the chemical functioning of our bodies.

Avocado

We often prefer to eat avocado’s sprinkles with some favourite seasoning or some lemon juice. But this item has its effects on the human body, especially the female body, by influencing the levels of hormones such as the oestrogen and progesterone. These hormones regulate ovulation and the menstrual cycle. Avocado prevents the absorption of oestrogen and increases the production of progesterone. Hormonal imbalance in females may lead to osteoporosis or even cancer in certain areas of the body like ovaries, cervix, uterus and most probably the breast. Take the opinion of your physician if you are facing some hormonal imbalance.

Chocolate

Not only are these sweet delicacies but chocolates can also have sweet effect on your health. It reduces stress as it prevents the production of the stress hormones as well as other hormones like cortisol and catecholamines. Chocolate also has its effect directly on the gastrointestinal hormones that influence the appetite. Consumption of dark chocolates has shown suppression in appetites.

Oysters

Barry University, Florida has its researchers have conducted a sturdy that show that two types of rare amino acid are found in molluscs that boost the levels of sex hormones. Research done on rats that injecting of amino acids has had its influence on male hormones like testosterone and female hormones like progesterone in females. These two hormones are also linked with sexuality in human beings. Men who are eager to be fathers have another reason on consume oysters.

Chilli peppers

Capsaicin in the adrenalin glands present above both the kidneys help in the production of hormones like epinephrine and norepinephrine. These two hormones are responsible for short-lived heath benefits due consumption of chilli peppers. Metabolism is boosted by epinephrine which increases the heart rate, helps the body to produce energy from sugars and also stimulates the floe of blood from muscles to the brain.

These food items and many others have some influence on our body which we are almost ignorant about. The best thing is to learn more about the food that we eat.
