Last year, the biggest flops of the box office happened to be Aamir Khan’s ‘Thugs Of Hindostan’ And Shahrukh Khan’s ‘Zero’. Coincidently, Katrina was a common denominator in both the movies. Recently, the actress was seen on film journalist Jitesh Pillaai’s talk show Famously Filmfare, and she did open up on what she felt about both movies failing to charm the audiences.
Talking about the failure of ‘Thugs Of Hindostan’, Katrina admitted that she wasn’t emotionally invested in the movie. Katrina had a few scenes in the movie and 2 songs, so to speak. She said,
“Very honestly, I take ownership of everything I do. Thugs Of Hindostan was not my film. I’m not a big part of the film. So there wasn’t too much emotion invested in it.”
She further added,
“The emotion I felt was more invested because they are really good friends of mine. Like, Adi (Aditya Chopra), I know how much he put into the film. Aamir (Khan) is dear to me. Victor (director Vijay Krishna Acharya) sir is dear to me. It went wrong. But why things go wrong, that we don’t know.”
In Aanand L Rai’s Zero, Katrina played a movie star who was suffering from alcoholism. The movie failed to do even a decent business at the box office.
Talking about Zero, the actress said,
“In Zero, I was very nervous about how Aanand sir would wind up the film. Because I felt that was very tricky. He really went out there and in certain places, I think maybe it was a step too far which lost its relatability to the audience. That’s about it. There’s nothing more than that to analyse.”
Katrina would be next seen in Ali Abbas Zafar’s Bharat opposite Salman Khan.
