Two years after its release, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil has put Karan Johar into a fine pickle. Karan, who recently received a lot of flak for Hardik Pandya, KL Rahul row, has again been targeted by the Twitterati for his comment while trying to justify the killing of Alizeh, Anushka Sharma’s character in his 2016 movie Ae Dil Hai Mushkil.
As per TOI, various reports said that Karan, in an interview with HuffPost India, justified that Alizeh had to die as she could not reciprocate Ranbir Kapoor’s character Ayan’s feelings of love for her in the movie.
This was enough for making people angry. Twitteratis slammed Karan for making such a statement in a time when women are still targeted in numerous ways.
"She could have loved him back, why couldn't she? So she got cancer and died." ? I think my eye orbitals just fell down from their sockets. Way to undergo catharsis bro KJo. ? #AeDilHaiMushkil pic.twitter.com/yA3PEr9zr3

Amen. This movie has good songs but the plot was disturbing on so many levels. Ayan’s character is prime example of when a guy doesn’t get that a girl is saying no and to move on. I mean the girl got tired of saying no and ended up getting cancer, so tragic. #AeDilHaiMushkil https://t.co/R8xF62c9Up
