Call it fat or term it as “slightly on a healthier side”, the fact is weight gain gives nightmares to ladies. Moment your jeans gets tight or your favourite top, which once used to flaunt your curves, reveals your tyres now, you tend to stress, right? Today, when being fit and lean is considered to be the “new normal”, you being out of shape won’t earn you any brownie points.
Slog it out
If you can’t join a gym because the timings don’t suit you or that aerobic class is far from your place, don’t worry. All you can do is walk! It will not cost you anything. Or buy a skipping rope, do spot jogging, do sit-ups or climb up and down the stairs. The bottom line, however is, there are no short cuts to weight loss. You will have to slog it out.
Eat right
Physical activities and eating right food go hand on hand if you want to shed kilos. Prepare a diet chart and eat healthy food. Opt for baked or grilled food stuff. If out for dinner, prefer salads over cheesy pastas. Making salads at home is an easy way to stay healthy.
Eat, don’t skip
Never skip your meals, because ultimately it all boils down to metabolism rate. When you don’t eat for long, your metabolism rate is slow because the body conserves the energy for future use. This energy is stored in the form of fat. So, when you exercise, you are not getting rid of the old fat that is already there, but of the newly-formed fat.
Avoid stress
Easier said than done, but staying stress-free is the mantra to stay fit. If you are stressed out, you tend to skip meals or binge on junk food. Stress leads to lethargy and you won’t even feel like budging, forget exercising.
Staying hydrated
Drinking a good amount of water half an hour before and after your meal if the best way to stay healthy and in good shape. It prevents overeating. Moreover, those who exercise regularly sweat a lot and hence lose lot of water from body. However, avoid having aerated drinks or tea and coffee in excess. They increase your sugar intake.
Stay fit, feel good and confident — that’s the mantra
