10 Must Follow Tips For Skin and Health!

From the moment we wake up, till the time we go to bed, out skin, out hands and feet go through so much. Though we take care of ourselves, at times, unintentionally, many things may just slip through our mind — washing hands after reaching office, for instance. Pampering is one thing and taking care of basic health and hygiene is another. Here are a few tips.

Washing hands

Hands are the main carriers of germs. We keep touching so many things and often forget to wash our hands. Make sure to use a proper disinfectant or at least keep a hand sanitizer with you. This helps in killing millions of germs.

Avoid sharing towels, pillowcases and blankets: Pillowcases, blankets and towels are things that come in direct contact with your skin. Never share these things for hygiene purpose. Even if you do, wash and then re-use. But sharing towels is a complete no-no.

Wear clean clothes

Sweat is a good breeding ground for germs. It is, therefore, advisable to get rid of sweat from clothes as soon as possible. Never wear same clothes twice without washing. If you do, you are inviting trouble.

Let the lather stay

While taking shower, let the lather of the soap or body wash stay on your body for a few minutes. Good soap or body wash kills germs.

Use of sunscreen is a must

Many skin problems result from harmful sun rays. To protect the skin, always apply sunscreen whenever you step out. This keeps skin safe.

Don’t ignore cuts and wounds

Cut, wounds and abrasions when kept exposed for long, attract germs. Make sure to cover up your wounds and cuts. If the wound is serious or the cut is deep, make sure you change the dressing every day.

Taking Shower at gyms

Athlete’s foot — also known as ringworm of the foot — is a fungal infection of the skin that causes scaling, flaking, and itch of affected areas. It is a common skin problem caused because of using public washrooms or taking shower at gyms. Protective foot cover is must which prevents spread of germs.

Eat and drink well

Your diet has a direct influence on your skin. Eat lots of fresh fruits like banana, citrus, berries and apples. Avoid biting into oily food and fast foods. Also, don’t get addicted to tea, coffee or aerated drinks. Water is the best thing that keeps your skin healthy.

Exercise

A regular routine of exercise helps in flushing out toxins from your skin pores along with sweat.

Apply hand and body lotion

Apply lotion on dry skin. This helps in locking the moisture of the skin.
