With the Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh and actor Geeta Basra all set to tie the knot on October 29, they’ve turned to the seasoned creative mind of Archana Kochhar for their wedding outfits.
Geeta Basra looked stunning on her Mehendi ceremony, wearing an elegant lemon yellow lehenga and a candy pink choli with pita embroidery designed by Archana Kochhar. She looks every bit of a typical Punjabi bride. Her appealing earrings and beautiful Headgear with Maang Tika.
“Geeta wanted an extremely traditional look for all the important occasions, so we decided to go with lehengas, attached dupatta and a crop-top blouse with an Indian work on it” reveals Archana Kochhar, in charge of creating the wedding outfits for both the bride and the groom. She further ads that Geeta and Harbhajan knew exactly what look they wanted for the wedding. While Geeta was specific about her colours, Harbhajan’s brief was classic and simple.
“For the Mehendi ceremony, Geeta will be sporting a lime yellow kurti and pink lehenga with antique silver work. For the Chuda ceremony, it will be an orange lehenga made of ‘ahimsa silk’. The dress is said to be a blend of a fish tail skirt with a sheer embroidered crop top.
The wedding lehenga will be in traditional red-and-gold combination accessorized by a nath, a matha patti and a tikka with a beautiful head dupatta to complete the ensemble. The reception lehenga will be in electric blue colour with mirror work and sequins.” shares Kochhar.
